L!fe Happens, Kat Coiro’s film about three best friends in Los Angeles, starring Krysten Ritter, Kate Bosworth and Rachel Bilson, will be released theatrically March 30, expanding to additional cities on April 6.

The movie’s theatrical release comes about through an exclusive partnership between PMK*BNC Films, the public relations firm marketing and distribution division headed by Marian Koltai-Levine,and AMC Theatres, which will showcast the film in more than 80 locations throughout North America through its AMC Independent program.

At today’s TCA panel on Don’t Trust The B— In Apartment 23, creator/executive producer Nahnatchka Khan said the show is different from other new “roommate” comedies like CBS’ 2 Broke Girls because one of the roommates is a total bitch. The bitch (Krysten Ritter’s Chloe) is the B— of the title. It’s a word ABC entertainment president Paul Lee said earlier in the day could not be included in the title of a network show, even though it might work for cable. The new series — from American Dad executive producer Khan with David Hemingson and Jeff Morton — is about a sweet girl from the heartland (Dreama Walker’s June) forced by circumstances to bunk in with a wild roommate who doesn’t mind having sex on top of a birthday cake.

Khan said she was OK with taking “bitch” out of the title but is glad the phrase “Don’t trust” was maintained, rather than shortening the title to Apartment 23. “The ‘Don’t Trust’ part I feel strongly about; it says it’s something is dangerous and a little bit different,” Kahn said. “I like the warning of it.” She added: “The B, as we like to call it, will always be a B.”

If it’s not easy to do a show called “b—-,” it’s just as hard to do a show about one. The key, says Khan, is Ritter, who keeps Chloe likable even when her behavior is reprehensible. And, she says, Chloe does have a nice side; she just has an odd way of showing it.

Either way, says Ritter, it’s a great role to play. “I think that Chloe gets to say things that everybody wishes they could say, and I get to. It’s a delicious role,” says Ritter. “It’s really just the most fun I’ve ever had in my life.”

Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23, starring Krysten Ritter, Dreama Walker and James Van Der Beek as a heightened version of himself, is still off the net’s schedule. Don’t Trust the B—- follows the lives of two different women, a barista who lost a high-profile upscale job (Walker) and a savvy street smart con artist (Ritter), who end up rooming together in a New York City apartment.
